AGENCY,
NOT HANDOUTS
THE DIRECT FUNDING MODEL.
Sovereign Alliance operates a direct funding model, providing grants straight to locally led organisations — schools, women’s cooperatives, and community groups — rather than running projects ourselves.
This ensures resources reach those closest to the challenges and gives communities the agency to decide how best to achieve shared goals. Funds are released in tranches against agreed milestones, with clear reporting requirements and independent audits.
This model reduces overheads, avoids dependency on outside programmes, and ensures that every pound is traceable from donor to impact on the ground.
PARTNERS.
We partner with trusted groups, organisations, and grass-roots initiatives to ensure funding reaches those who most need it and it is used in the most appropriate way. Only through legitimate, trusted, and authorised partners do we fund and support our projects.

VETTING.
We trust the projects we give funding to. However, we also check carefully that every grant is used as promised and follow strict vetting procedures backed up with AI powered due diligence systems.
Applications can either be made through our trusted network of confirmed and established partners, or on an individual basis. Whichever route is taken, we carry out random spot checks to make sure our support is making the difference it should. Our goal is to keep the process rigorous but not heavy-handed, so the focus stays on impact rather than paperwork.

Through Our Partners
Most applications come through trusted partners already working in the countries we support.
To become a partner, organisations go through our due diligence process: we check their credentials, governance, and track record. Once approved, they can endorse or submit projects directly.
Partners cannot profit from this role, and they are responsible for showing us clear evidence of how the funds are spent.

Direct Applications
Individuals or groups can also apply to us directly for smaller grants. We use AI tools and detailed due diligence to help us understand and assess each project. All applicants go through a structured “understand” phase before being approved. This is a lengthy but necessary process.
Funding is released in stages, with evidence required along the way to confirm that money is being used as described.
